Yeh Delhi hai mere yaar !!!!

" बड़ा  कस  के  गले  लगाता  है , धड़कन  की  धूम  सुनाता  है , इसके  बाए  तरफ  भी  दिल  है
इसके  दाए  तरफ  भी  दिल  है , यह  सेहर  नहीं  महफ़िल  है....."

My love for Delhi & few simple reasons which I found interesting enough to fall in love with this amazing 'City of Dream'.  I will overlook the  negative aspect of this city since every coin has both bad/good side. I will show you good sides which I found in Delhi.

Not to lie but my first look towards Delhi was more or less like 'Horror-shock' with zig-zag cars moving on road and having no clue about weird sounding mohallas like Dhaula-kuan, Patparganj, Shakarpur, mandola, Shahdara etc .

My real journey started in 2004 when I landed here after college completion struggling to make some 'Pehchaan' of myself in this vast city. Roughly if I calculate, I have spent almost 3.5 yrs in Noida pre-marriage and 3.5 yrs in Gurgaon post-marriage (oops I still include my Onsite years since my base location never got changed). I heard until you are thrown in pool you just can't learn swimming and for sure my pool was Delhi where I was thrown by destiny to learn big-small things of life. I came to Delhi as 'little sister' of  my Bhaiya totally dependent on him to guide but with his help and numerous opportunity I got the 'Transformation'.

Before moving ahead just enjoy this lovely number of Delhi-6

**********Few mentions ****************

I  just love the air, feel & freedom of belonging to this city.

India gate has always been my favorite place to jump around. Real credit goes to my big bro and Arun bhaiya who were quite nervous-breakdown single people feel like having ice-cream at late night and would do anything to reach there. And yes without a second thought we all use to hit India gate in our night attires.

Shining lights on Delhi roads at night as if everyday is some festival. Don't forget to see Delhi in Diwali when all buildings are illuminated with lights and it really makes a beautiful view.

Awesome free long drives across the road of Delhi specially during off days else 'Have patience' is the only word :)

Well it is pointless to talk about great food of delhi ..Pick TOI guide for food joints in delhi and you will get list of 1000 places but some cheap food joints are amazing if you go to Chandni Chowk (galebiwala, parathawala, lassi , chaat)... Not to forget famous Moolchand paratha wala which is now partly covered due to Metro running on top of it .

Chandni chock at evening is just a idle idea and when you see Redfort and Jama masjid while moving in rickshaw ...Awesome is the feeling....believe me it gives so much of patriotic feeling and ending it with khana at karim's original restaurent is just perfect idea.

If you just can't find anything enough to pass time then just turn your bike/car and hit Dilli-haat and enjoy variety of colors there.

When it comes to shopping , I can bet all girls will run to Delhi for it. It has exclusive places for each cadre of people based on their financial status . If you are Richie-rich then South-Extension  is your place. If not then hit Janpath or Lajpat or Sarojini and fight for your deal. Well my personal experience in negotiating is so poor that I have always benefited the seller.

Please avoid Dilli in raining season as the roads are no doubt crap over there and in those bumpy roads you will surely break your 1-2 bone :)

It is quite closely located to many adventurous places and hill stations that you just need to plan your weekend trip and enjoy with family and friends.

Not to forget Pragati Maidaan and it's regular trade fairs. If you happen to get free pass , fair enough otherwise ticket is cheap to taste the variety .

I have also noticed one special quality of Delhites.. They have great practical and emotional connect (at least few group) when it comes to show unity as we all observed in Jessica Lall's case and nailing down of Manu Sharma . All I can say still majority has 'Humantity' intact in them :)
Lot of regular cribbing about transport system and finally Delhi get it's Metro and people were relieved.(Ladies get special quota in this even :)) I have travelled few countries and offcourse used there Metro-system and I can say that we are in right track as of now .

I heard about fascinating and interesting night-life of Delhi but poor me never experienced it . Well no complaints as I have enjoyed day more than night :) But yes point to note - Delhi never sleeps :)

Winter of Delhi has vivid experiences when  you just can't leave Adrak-tea from hand and you can't leave your quilt. But the foggy look of Delhi is one more attraction, if you have comfortable average living.

Not to forget Akshardhaam temple and it's classy fountain dance show . I never saw anything like that for sure . What a dance on the variety of tunes !!! I just felt a beautiful lady dancing in classic music and everybody is under her charm :) Marvelous is the word !!

Last, checkout this video of evolution of Indira Gandhi International Airport T3 (http://www.newdelhiairport.in/media.aspx) and you will forget top-notch airports of other country.

This is enough reason for me to say - I simply love Delhi :D
